Getting to Fribourg

Fribourg is located in the middle-west of Switzerland, close to the capital Berne (see map below).

Arrival by car

Fribourg has direct highway connections to all major European cities. If you plan to arrive by car, take direction to Berne and from Berne to Fribourg.

Arrival by train

Train access to Fribourg is via Basel, Zurich, Geneva, or Domodossola. For connection details we recommend the following link: Swiss Railway Company SBB (www.sbb.ch).

Arrival by plane

If you plan to travel by plane, we recommend the airports Basel, Zurich, or Geneva (west). Both airports have train connection to Fribourg. The train trip takes app. 1.30 h from Basel & Geneva airport and app. 1.40 h from Zurich airport. There is also a small regional airport in Berne but it has only limited connections and no direct train connection to Fribourg. See the following links for details.
